I make art because I have to. I need to make real that which exists in the ether of my mind. I imagine narratives that have to be told and stories that must be captured. I use people and places to realize my vision by making conceptual portraits. Using costumes and props along with post processing, I put all elements together to create a mood, to tell a tale.
I use various tonal finishes to get the mood across and give the images the look of another time, place, or dimension. From the otherworldly flower garden to the esoteric ghost, from the cosplayer to the productions, each image holds secrets that only it can tell.
For me, my art means my sanity. Complexity and simplicity both are at war in my mind and give me ideas that I then put into play. And with each new idea, I must create again.
